The Professional Association of Tourist Informants of Mallorca was created in 1977. This Association was expanded with the incorporation of the other islands of the archipelago, becoming the Professional Association of Tourist Informants of the Balearic Islands in 1985. The Official College of Guides of Tourism of the Balearic Islands was created by Law No. 5/2004 of December 20, published in the BOIB of December 25, 2004, replacing the previous Association.
